SPRING 2011
The wonderful cover by Chris Buzelli!
To be published by Abrams, soon! This is my latest, a middle grade novel revolving around a neighborhood's one remaining orange tree and the secrets told, grand ideas shared, and events witnessed in its presence, told in the viewpoints of the street's many inhabitants, past and present. I am excitedly working on its last stages, with input and support from my editor at Abrams. I love the revision process. Ideas connect, gel and echo one another. It is almost magical! I print out my work on different colored paper for each draft. Here is a photo of this latest draft, my "orange" revision. I'm continuously going back to the printed pages and scribbling things in pen. I will do another draft (a "clean-up" draft) on another color paper, and send it to my editor via email. (The index cards are ideas I have scribbled down, to be added to the draft when I arrive at the appropriate section.) Stay tuned! |
